How can we help?

Make sure dB Ride has microphone permission: your device settings → Apps → dB Ride → Permissions → Microphone → Allow. If it's already allowed, close the app completely and open it again.

Go to Settings → Apps → dB Ride → Permissions → Location and choose “While using the app” or “Allow all the time”. Also make sure location services are enabled on your device. Outdoors, GPS finds a signal faster.

Tap the REC button at the bottom right of the main screen. Noise level and GPS are recorded together. To finish, tap STOP, name the recording and save it – it then appears under “My recordings”.

The free version includes all measuring features, GPS recording, the map, “noise by speed”, share cards of single recordings and comparing two recordings; it shows ads. Premium is a one-time purchase, no subscription: no ads, compare up to 8 recordings including saving and sharing, CSV and PDF export.

Open a recording and tap the share icon. You can share a share card image right away. CSV and PDF export are part of Premium.

Use “Restore purchase” in the app and make sure you are signed in with the same Google or Apple account you used to buy it. If that doesn't help, email us with your device, OS version and purchase date (please no payment details).

Smartphone microphones aren't calibrated and differ between models. If you have a reference meter, you can set a calibration offset (up to ±15 dB in 0.5 dB steps) in the settings. For comparisons, the key is always using the same phone in the same position. More: Are phone decibel meter apps accurate?

Your recordings stay on your device – no account, no cloud. For the map and place names, coordinates are sent to map services; the free version shows ads via Appodeal. Details in the privacy policy.

Menu (top right) → Settings → App language. You can choose English or German.

Delete single recordings under “My recordings”. Remove all trips via Settings → “Delete all trips”. Uninstalling the app also deletes all local data.
